Sustainability only minor factor in investment decisions ­ despite aspirations

British asset manager Schroders has polled 650 institutional investors from around the world, managing a combined EUR 20.7 trillion. The survey shows that sustainability remains a minor factor in the investment decision-making process, and that the time horizon affects the sustainability focus.

London-based Schroders has surveyed 650 globally-diversified institutional investors ­ who together manage EUR 20.7 trillion of assets ­ on various aspects of sustainable investing. Sustainability is defined in the poll as "a forward-looking, holistic approach to investment, including full integration, exclusionary screening and best-in-class investing".
