Fortum's Swedish methanol project receives EU funding

Project Air, a collaboration between Fortum, Perstorp, and Uniper, has received funding from the EU’s Innovation Fund.

Fortum and chemical producer Perstorp’s Swedish methanol project is set to make progress after being selected for funding from the EU’s Innovation Fund.

The consortium behind the project had applied for EUR 97m, and the total investment is expected to reach EUR 230m. Project Air is one of 17 projects, for which the innovation fund has committed to allocate a total of EUR 1.8bn.
