Stena Oil expects huge competition on Scandinavian bunker market

Competition on the Scandinavian bunker market will increase as the moves closet to the new sulfur regulations taking effect in 2020, says the CEO of the major market player Stena Oil to ShippingWatch.

The bunker market in the Skagerrak, Kattegat and parts of the North Sea will see fierce competition in the coming years.

Leading up to Jan. 1, 2020 when the new sulfur regulations take effect, suppliers will seek to position themselves to only trade fuel which meets the new requirements.
