Natural gas could face an investment boom

According to DNV GL, investments in natural gas projects will see a significant boost in investments over the coming years. Within 10 years, gas will have taken over oil as the world's primary energy source.

Natural gas is facing a new golden era, according to a forecast from classification company DNV GL. The Norwegian company sees gas taking over oil as the world's primary energy source as early as 2026. DNV GL also predicts that investments in natural gas projects will rise to USD 1.13 billion by 2025 in the report, which sets the scene for the future energy mix by 2050.
