Gazprom fires export chief in major executive restaff
The Russian gas giant fires its veteran Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee Alexander Medvedev, who held responsibility for EU relations.
Alexander Medvedev is history at Gazprom, the company announces in a brief stock exchange notice Monday afternoon. Medvedev has otherwise been one the gas company's key figures, and he managed relations between Gazprom and long series of authorities within the EU – not least of all in connection with Baltic gas pipeline Nord Stream 2, in which Gazprom has played a central role in recent years.
