Tyra field's carbon emissions could have been 30 percent lower

If the new Tyra field were electrified in accordance with the Tampen model, it would have far lower carbon emissions, show new calculations by Wood Mackenzie. "It was deemed too expensive," says Total E&P Denmark Managing Director Patrick Gilly.

The Danish oil and gas industry could benefit from drawing inspiration from the Norwegian industry, at least when it comes to electrification of offshore platforms, said Wood Mackenzie Director of Upstream Consulting Amy Bowe at a conference held by trade organization Oil Gas Denmark.
