Authorities postpone deadline for decision on Maersk Drilling merger

The British competition authorities postpone assessment of the merger between Maersk Drilling and Noble to Sept. 1.

The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) postpones its assessment of the Maersk Drilling-Noble merger until Sept. 1 from July 6, states the CMA Thursday afternoon.

The reason is that the assessment hinges on a divestment of a number of drilling rigs.
