
Since Statoil outsourced the operations and maintenance of its IT systems to India in 2012, the company has experienced a number of cases which could potentially pose danger and which now put the company under pressure, according to Norwegian media after the TV station NRK cast a light over the case.
NRK has found documentation of 29 cases where Indian employees broke technical barriers to the company's platforms and plants and have thus gained access to unauthorized information. According to the TV station's sources, the actual number of cases is much higher.
