Noreco wins millions in Siri insurance case

The Norwegian oil company is the winner of an insurance claims case at the Danish Maritime and Commercial High Court concerning the damaged Siri platform.

Norwegian Noreco has emerged victorious in a drawn-out action concerning insurance claims arising from the Danish Siri platform in the North Sea.

The company has sued a number of insurance companies for USD 513 million – including interest – for lost production arising from Siri in the years 2009 – 2010 as a result of cracks in the platform's submarine structure.
