
Risks could emerge for Denmark should the government approve Russian Gazprom's plans to lead a new gas pipeline through Danish waters, reports Danish daily Jyllands-Posten. The newspaper has accessed a report drafted by a Norwegian consultant firm, commissioned by the company behind gas pipeline Nord Stream 2.
A large amount of chemical warfare agents were thrown into the sea after World War II. Some of these chemicals still lie under the sea off of Danish island Bornholm and the report states that they could be stirred up if Gazprom is allowed to install its gas pipeline, which is planned to extend from Russia to Germany.
