Tensions over energy and climate investments in upcoming EU budget

When the EU Commission presents its proposal this Wednesday for the EU budget for the 2021-2017 period, countries including Denmark have urged that the target for climate related investments be raised significantly. But many sides must be taken into consideration and Denmark also wants the budget to be trimmed.


The former Danish climate commissioner Connie Hedegaard saw it implemented: 20 percent of the EU's investments between 2013 and 2020 had to be climate related.
