The UK will pull out of EU carbon trading without Brexit deal

If the UK fails to reach a Brexit deal with the EU, it will withdraw from the EU carbon trading system, according to a guidance issued by the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

The European carbon trading system may lose a critical player as early as March next year. According to a guidance issued by the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the UK will also end up pulling out from the EU emissions trading scheme, ETS, should the UK fail to reach a Brexit deal with the bloc.
