New research: 100 percent green energy transition is possible without added cost

The transition to renewable energy will not be more expensive than the current set-up, a new report claims.

A new report concludes that a transition to 100 percent renewable energy would be financially competitive compared to the current system based on fossil fuels and nuclear power. Moreover, it is said to this could reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero before 2050, according to the report written by Finnish university LUT and Energy Watch Group – which, despite the name, is unaffiliated with EnergyWatch.
