
Norway continues to solidify its status as a leading nation in electric cars. After the Norwegians announced last December that the 100,000th car had hit the streets, yet another electric milestone was reached in January, as 37 percent of the 13,000 newly registered cars were either electric or hybrids, according to a statement from Norway's Oplysningsrådet for Veitrafikken (OFV, 'Information Council for the Road Traffic').
This share, also described by Danish media Ingeniøren, was much higher than for diesel vehicles, which could claim 26.3 percent of the sales. Last January, 39 percent of sold cars ran on diesel, while 18.1 percent were hybrids or electric cars.
