
The Danish government has a limited ability to block the construction of the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream II through its territorial waters near the Danish island of Bornholm.
This is the statement from Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen after it emerged that Gazprom, the Russian company behind the pipeline, would be submitting a formal application for a construction permit this week.
