EU ministers increase ambitions for energy efficiency

The energy ministries in the EU reached agreement Monday to boost the goal for energy efficiency to 30 percent until 2030. However, EU members did not succeed in making the targets binding.

After several discussion rounds and revisions of the proposal, the EU's energy ministers have reached agreement regarding a common approach for updating the energy efficiency directive.
