UK confirms offshore wind auction in 2019

The British government is allocating funds, primarily to offshore wind, corresponding to projects totaling more than 10 GW with the current prices.

The next British offshore wind auction will take place in the spring 2019, announces the British Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), ahead of the launch of the British government's Clean Growth Strategy.

"We've shown beyond doubt that renewable energy projects are an effective way to cut our emissions, while creating thousands of good jobs and attracting billions of pounds worth of investment," says UK Energy Minister Richard Harrington.
