German energy executive victim of acid attack

CFO of Germany's Innogy has been admitted to the hospital with serious injuries after a violent attack. The motive is unknown, but a German newspaper reports that it could be related to the decision to expand a coal mine.

Sunday evening CET, Innogy's CFO, Bernhard Günther, suffered serious injury. In statements to the police, the 51-year-old executive said he was attacked by two unknown men, who threw acid in his face when he was walking through a park in the Düsseldorf suburb Haan.
