Poland's government supports offshore wind

Offshore wind farms will be installed in the mid-2020s after Poland's system operator, PSE, has opened up for approximately 8 GW, says state officer for energy infrastructure Piotr Naimksi from the governing Polish party.

Plans to install an offshore wind park off the coast of Poland have received state approval. In an interview with Reuters at the European Economic Congress held this week in the Polish city Katowice, energy officer Piotr Naimski said the country will need both offshore wind and nuclear energy in the otherwise coal-intensive energy mix.
