Vineyard Wind wiped the floor with its competitors at USA's first offshore wind tender. The consortium, which is comprises of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and the Spanish electric utility company Iberdrola's US-based subsidiary, Avangrid, won bids for 800 MW at the Massachusetts tender. The companies will now have to negotiate the details with authorities regarding sales and marketing. This is naturally cause for celebration for the consortium's CEO.

"Vineyard Wind is proud to have been chosen to lead the new offshore wind industry in Massachusetts into the future," says Vineyard Wind CEO Lars Thaaning Pedersen in speech directed to Massachusetts authorities.
