Developer invests millions in Rhode Island ports after US victory

US-based offshore wind project will create 800 temporary and 50 permanent jobs in Rhode Island. The developer promises to invest USD 250 locally.

Deepwater Wind won a great prize last last week. At the same time as Vineyard Wind won the US's first offshore wind tender for 800 MW in Massachusetts, US developer Deepwater Wind began contract negotiations in the neighboring state Rhode Island pertaining to the installation of the Revolution Wind project at 400 MW. The US developer had already installed the US's first offshore wind farm, the pilot project Block Island, also in Rhode Island.
