Oil trader invests DKK 1.5 billion in wind

Swiss-based Vitol wants to co-invest in renewable energy, and a fund with an appetite for wind will help realize it.

Although oil is a vital part of Vitol's identity and its logo is an image of a golden drop of oil, the large-scale oil trader is now investing in wind energy. Vitol writes in a statement that together with Low Carbon, it has established a new fund for the purpose of investing in offshore and onshore wind energy.

The fund, VLC Renewables is investing EUR 200 million, which corresponds to DKK 1.490 million.
