Norwegian shipyard to design US offshore wind service vessel

The US offshore wind industry is taking the first steps in its plan to create several thousands of jobs and establish an offshore wind farm service fleet.

Aeolus Energy Group has signed an agreement with Norwegian shipyard Ulstein regarding the design of service vessels (SOVs) to be built by a US shipyard and be used to service the US offshore wind energy industry. These vessels will be the first of their kind to comply with the US Jones Act, informs Aeolus in a statement.
