Swedish developer builds Nordic region's first zero-subsidy wind farm

German turbine Manufacturer Nordex has received orders for approximately 100 MW for an IKEA project with an attached power purchase agreement. A milestone for the industry, says developer.

It will require a bit of montage. However, if one aggregates the four Finnish wind farms, Långmossa, Ribäcken, Ponsivuori and Verhonkulma, then what results is the Nordic region's first zero-subsidy wind energy project. Swedish developer OX2 has entered a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with IKEA Retail Finland regarding the installation of a wind farm, which will have a capacity rating of 107.4 MW upon completion in the beginning of 2020.
