E.ON to add yet another large wind farm in Sweden

The massive expansion of onshore wind in Sweden continues. The German utility has announced a wind project with capacity slightly under 1 GW and consisting of 114 turbines from a 4 MW platform.

It appears that energy companies are scrambling to secure the final kilowatt hours attached to the Swedish certification ordinance. On Friday, E.ON announced a 475 MW project to be installed at Härnösand north of Sundsvall. The project will consist of two facilities, Hästkullen and Björnlandhöjden, and installation phase will begin as early as this year. The whole wind farm is expected to be commissioned within three years.
