Danish firm completes world's first offshore wind repowering

Momentum Group has transformed a 20-year offshore wind farm into a slightly newer model. This was not the original plan, says the CEO, but it works, and repowering can also be carried with onshore farms in countries including Denmark, says the CEO.

For almost 20 years, Sweden's first offshore wind farm, Bockstigen, consisted of 550 kW turbines from old Danish turbine manufacturer Wind World. But the farm entered a new chapter Friday when five new wind turbines began spinning on site, launching the world's first repowered offshore wind farm.
