MHI Vestas has US breakthrough
The offshore wind turbine manufacturer is nominated as preferred supplier for an 800 MW project and will begin to establish a local supply chain as soon as the order is confirmed as firm and unconditional.
A clear tendency was tangible at the offshore wind energy conference held in Boston this summer. Many participants came from joint venture consortium Vineyard Wind, which had recently won 800 MW in the Massachusetts tender. MHI Vestas also sent a fair share of people, and there was quite a lot bustle between the two companies' meeting rooms.
