New initiatives from the major wind turbine manufacturers will lead to considerable expansions in India and Turkey, while the local footprint is reinforced in Russia.

Relocating production is for several reasons one the tendencies currently characterizing the wind energy industry. This is partially explainable by both wind turbines manufacturers and their subsuppliers exploiting low labor and material costs to better withstand the sustained price squeeze impacting the industry. Another increasingly important factor is that practically all the world's countries are demanding for local production. Once in a while, these two factors interact. Several examples of this trend have taken place in recent weeks.
