Two sites compete for new Danish offshore wind farm

Four sites for the first of three offshore wind farms in Danish waters have been reduced to two – one off the coast of Northwestern Jutland in the North Sea and one in the Baltic south-southeast of Copenhagen.

The subcommittee working on the recently ratified Danish energy plan, which entails the construction of three offshore wind farms, has with the assistance of domestic engineering consultancy COWI, narrowed down the number of possible installation sites from four to two. One is located off the coast of Northwestern Jutland in the North Sea and one in the Baltic south-southeast of Copenhagen, informs Denmark's Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate in a press release.
