Centrica signs largest offshore wind PPA to date

Neas Energy celebrates full integration with its British parent company by signing the largest-ever power purchase agreement on offshore wind energy. The 15-year deal pertains roughly three-quarters of the electricity generated by UK farm Moray East.

Power sales are now ensured for the forthcoming 950 MW offshore wind farm Moray East. Centrica Energy Market and Trading – as the division formerly known as Neas Energy is officially named as of Monday – has entered a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for roughly 76.7 percent of the electricity generated by the facility, which is expected to begin operations from 2022. The remaining volume will go to one of the project's three owners, French Engie, Centrica and Engie inform.
