Global wind power expansion declined for third consecutive year

Last year, China installed almost as mush wind capacity as the rest of the world combined and for the first time became Earth's largest offshore wind market, shows a new report projecting quickened expansion following a disappointing 2018.

2018 saw the installation of 51.3 GW in wind capacity, shows a new report from trade association Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC). The speed of global wind expansion thereby declined for third consecutive year, with last year landing almost 20 percent under the record year 2015.
