DNV GL to certify Norwegian floating offshore wind

Norwegian-based registrar DNV GL is tasked with certifying the regulative compliance of floating offshore wind turbines set to supply electricity to domestic oil and gas fields.

Pumping oil and gas from the Norwegian sea bed requires electricity. And Snorre and Gullfaks, two of the largest fields in the the country's North Sea economic waters, will need a whole lot of power – so much so that an already environmentally taxing investment would be doused in even more soot.
