The US cypress has officially bloomed. With an order for three turbines for Bavarian wind farm Elfershausen, GE thus announces its first order for its Cypress platform. The turbines, which yield a 4.8 MW effect and have a rotor diameter of 158 meters, also mark the commercial debut of LM Wind Power's 73.5-meter, double-bladed rotors. The units are set to enter operation by the end of the year.
