Wind Europe CEO forecasts 5.6 GW in annual offshore wind growth

"We forecast around 5-6 GW in annual installations. We project further momentous growth in the UK, and the Netherlands will continue to be an important market with an annual expansion of 1 GW ahead to 2030," says Wind Europe CEO Giles Dickson.

The aggregated European offshore wind market's installed capacity is expected to grow to around 70-80 GW up to 2030 from the current volume of 18.5 GW, estimates trade association Wind Europe, which predicts that the UK will drive this growth. The association says France and Sweden's offshore wind activities leave much room improvement.
