Minister shoots down Norwegian wind farms
Norway's Minister of Petroleum and Energy Kjell-Børge Freiberg rejects offshore wind farms on a larger scale in Norwegian waters. "They are too expensive and threaten fishing," he says.

There is no market of significance for offshore wind farms in Norway, says Norway's Minister of Petroleum and Energy Kjell-Børge Freiberg (FRP), according to Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten. The statement comes shortly after a number of industry players called for a more ambitious strategy for offshore wind in Norway. Most recently, the shipowners joined in.
