Vestas struck by "double whammy"

The effect of turbine blade producer TPI's strike has not yet impacted the Danish manufacturer, which, on the other hand, sees the end of US projects with lackluster returns.

Vestas' first quarter was an unusual period. While history's ghosts from the price war that ravaged the wind industry, particularly in 2017, reappeared somewhat in the form of the first operating result deficit in the company's history, favorable news did appear manifested through the average sales price (ASP) per MW, which increased to EUR 2.14 million per MW amid the first quarter's record order intake of 3 GW.
