New super wind turbines outcompete thermal plants
The next generation of wind turbines will push the price of green power so far down that coal and gas-fired plants will be rendered uncompetitive throughout most of the world, potentially kickstarting the onshore wind market.

An entirely new generation of super-efficient wind turbines, towering up to 250 meters, are just around the corner, and these could kickstart the global onshore wind market, forecasts Chief Executive Knud-Erik Andersen of European Energy, which develops wind and solar farms around the world.
