Macquarie invests GBP 1.6 billion in UK offshore wind

In a farm-down sale, offshore wind farm East Anglia is valued at two thirds above the planned investment sum. (Updated)

One of the world's largest offshore wind farms has a new co-owner. Spanish utility Iberdrola has entered an agreement with Australian investment bank Macquarie on a partial divestment of wind farm East Anglia of 714 MW. Macquarie will pay GBP 1.63 billion for 40 percent of the project next year, when the wind farm is slated for operation, Iberdrola states after Financial Times reported on the transaction earlier.
