Polish energy players form offshore wind partnership

A Polish state-owned utility signs an offshore wind MoU with an oil company but is still scouting for international partners. Vattenfall and Ørsted are mentioned as candidates for a 1.2 GW project.

Two of Poland's largest energy players are planning a closer collaboration for offshore wind. State-owned utility PGE's subsidiary, PGE Baltica, and PKN Orlen, the country's largest operator within refining and gasoline sales, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on coordination, promotion, installation and grid connection for offshore wind farms in the booming market, PKN Orlen informs in a statement.
