Danish government cuts EUR 53.4 million off RE tender

"We must invest heavily in climate change mitigation," Denmark's energy minister asserts, more than halving the previous government's budget for the technology-neutral tender beginning now. The savings will be transferred to the government's climate action plan.

Last year's debut in the technology-neutral tenders was a great success. Compared to the previous wind turbine subsidy scheme of DKK 0.25 (EUR 0.033) per kWh, subsidy was reduced by about 90 percent when the allotted DKK 254 million in subsidies covered six wind and solar projects with capacities totaling 200 MW.
