Siemens Gamesa wins big contract in China

While installation phase begins at the world largest wind energy complex, where Siemens Gamesa ended up leaving the tender empty-handed, the manufacturer has won a new contract allowing it to debut its 4.8MW wind turbines in China.

Siemens Gamesa has won its first nomination to supply a project in China with its 4MW platform. Chinese utility Xinjiang TBEA has ordered 42 units of the model SG 4.5-145 to be delivered in an optimized 4.8MW version for a project near Changji in the northwestern province of Xinjiang. The order has a combined capacity of 200 MW, and the equipment is set to enter operation in late 2020, Siemens Gamesa informs in a statement.
