Ørsted wants to make Bornholm a massive energy island
The utility aims to build an energy island in the Baltic Sea by 2030. The plan entails up to 5 GW of offshore wind and points to the benefits of installing a P2X facility.
There has been quite a lot of talk of energy islands in recent months. Clusters of offshore wind turbines, either based around artificial atolls or island in a more figurative sense in the form of steel constructions at sea, joined by substations and other infrastructure for transmitting massive volumes of offshore wind power to the countries surrounding the North Sea.
