Better Energy sees Polish victory as starting block

The project developer landed two solar projects with far lower than average prices in a wind-dominated Polish call for tenders, and can add one more gigawatt to its growing portfolio in the country.

As expected, onshore wind power took the lion's share – around 2.2 GW – of the winning bids in this year's Polish call for tenders, when they were announced shortly before Christmas. In contrast to last year's winners, however, wind projects did not take up all of the top spots. Danish project developer Better Energy made sure that solar power was included, for the first time, in a call for commercial scale operations.
