Google out of Vestas' prestige project

The OEM is stranded with its stake in the Kenyan Lake Turkana project and its 365 wind turbines following the annulment of a deal with Google's parent company. Don't expect a fortune to be made off a sale, says CFO.

Vestas has once again found itself left with without a buyer for installed wind capacity. The OEM had otherwise entered an agreement with Google's parent company, Alphabet, regarding the sale of 12.5 percent of the 310 MW Kenyan Lake Turkana project. The deal is now canceled due to delays, Vestas confirms in a comment to Bloomberg.
