MHI Vestas loses Vineyard Wind's preferred supplier nomination

The agreement between the the joint venture developing delayed US offshore wind farm Vineyard Wind and MHI Vestas has expired. That allows us to act freely, says CIP partner.

In November of 2018, MHI Vestas was the first wind OEM to get a foot into the fledgling US offshore wind industry. Although the preferred supplier nomination for Vineyard Wind was not a firm and unconditional order, this contract stage is in practically all circumstances a mere formality, as such deals normally turn firm as soon as developers make their final investment decisions.
