Scatec selects Plug Power for Egyptian hydrogen project

The Norwegian developer and its partners has selected Plug Power to provide electrolysis technology for the state-funded hydrogen project in Egypt.

US-based Plug Power will provide electrolysis technology for the 100MW hydrogen project currently being established by Scatec in Egypt together with state fund TSFE and ammonia producer Fertiglobe, owned by natural gas company OCI and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).

The hydrogen will be used to produce green ammonia. Scatec will build and operate the facility, and the Norwegian company will be majority owner of the green hydrogen project.
