Vestas reshuffles to prioritize project development

With an organizational reshuffle, Thomas Alsbjerg climbs the ladder to the executive management at Vestas, which also established a new function for digital solutions.

Thomas Alsbjerg has had a meteoric rise since being hired by Vestas two and half years ago: From being brought in from Coloplast in late 2019 with an aim of overhauling the turbine maker’s strategic direction to being tasked with spearheading the development platform, which Vestas has increasingly bet on in recent years. So much so that he has now been promoted to executive management.

This is meant to strengthen both the development unit and the digital transformation, reports Vestas Monday. The latter comes with Vestas’ establishment of a new Digital Solutions function, for which Alsbjerg will also be responsible.
