Ørsted has entered into a long-term agreement with offshore wind service provider Cadeler on the lease of vessels for the installation of wind turbines, Cadeler announces in a release.

The agreement means that from the first quarter of 2027 until the end of 2030, Ørsted will have vessel capacity to install wind turbines for the projects in this period.

”It’s crucial for Ørsted to secure long-term capacity from strategic suppliers so that we can build a partnership and together manage the risks and execution of our offshore wind program towards 2030 and beyond,” said Patrick Harnett, chief operating officer at Ørsted, in the announcement.

According to Cadeler, its A-Class vessels have the capacity to transport and install seven turbines with a capacity of 15 megawatts (MW) or five turbines with a capacity of 20MW or more.
