Vestas has received a firm order for offshore wind turbines with a total capacity of 660 megawatts from the German energy company RWE. The order, which is now final, is part of a conditional order of around 1,600 megawatts that Vestas announced in mid-May, according to a stock exchange announcement.

The order comprises a total of 44 V236-15.0 megawatt turbines.

Delivery and commissioning of the turbines, which will be used for the first phase of RWE’s Nordseecluster project, is expected to take place in 2026.

RWE already announced on May 27 that investment decisions had been made for both the first and second phases of the Nordseecluster project.

The 900MW second phase is expected to be completed in 2029.
