Google will be exclusively powered by renewable energy in 2017

US tech giant Google is planning to buy enough renewable energy next year to match the company's consumption at its data centers and offices all around the world.

This new move is considered one of the most ambitious from a private company in the battle against climate change, writes Financial Times.

The ambition strengthens Google's position as the largest private buyer of sustainable energy and, according to the tech company, marks a breakthrough in the mainstream use of solar and wind power.
